Santa Margherita, Veneto-Alto Adige
Italy

In 1935, Count Gaetano Marzotto embarked on a mission to rejuvenate a section of the Venetian countryside. This region, where rivers from the Alps wind their way through sun-drenched hills towards the Mediterranean coast, had been known for its vineyards since the Roman Empire. Count Marzotto transformed the landscape by creating farmlands and reviving traditional wine-making practices. He adopted new agricultural techniques and focused on addressing the needs of the Italian people. This endeavor was named Santa Margherita in honor of his beloved wife, Margherita.

Santa Margherita, which had been crafting Prosecco since 1952, gained widespread recognition in 1961. It was one of the first Italian wineries to vinify Pinot Grigio as a single varietal, a technique that involved separating the wine from the copper-colored skins to enhance the fruit’s freshness and versatility. This innovation played a significant role in establishing Santa Margherita as an iconic name in the wine industry.

We are offering:
Sparkling wines:

— PROSECCO DI VALDOBBIADENE SUPERIORE DOCG BRUT, NV year, 75cl

Ca Dei Frati, Lake Garda
Italy

Ca’ dei Frati was established in 1939 by patriarch Felice Dal Cero, who settled in Sirmione, located in the Brescia province on the Lombardy side of the Lugana appellation. The name “Ca’ dei Frati,” which translates to “friar house,” reflects the estate's history as a monastery where monks once cultivated grapes. The unique soil types in this region are crucial to the creation of Ca’ dei Frati’s fresh, mineral-rich wines.

Lake Garda was formed during the Eocene epoch, around 35 million years ago, by a melting glacier. As the ice retreated from what is now known as the Italian Alps, it carried glacial debris southward, depositing rocky and pebbly “morainic” soils.

These well-drained soils are ideal for fine wine production because the vine roots must penetrate deeply to access water, promoting vigorous fruit production. This effort results in grape berries that are rich in aroma and flavor, with greater complexity and depth.

We are offering:
White wines:

— CA DEI FRATI I FRATI LUGANA DOC, 2022 year, 75cl

Errazuriz, Aconcagua Valley
Chile

In 1870, while most Chilean vineyards were being established near Santiago, Don Maximiano Errázuriz ventured further north. After a two-day, 100-kilometer (62-mile) journey on horseback, he discovered the Aconcagua Valley. Captivated by the land, he declared, “from the best land, the best wine will be obtained.” This vision continues to resonate in our winery, even 150 years later.

Eduardo Chadwick joined the winery in 1983, remaining steadfast in Don Maximiano's commitment to producing quality wines and elevating Chile’s reputation as a premier wine region. He traveled to Bordeaux to learn winemaking techniques from Emile Peinaud, the renowned father of French winemaking.

Eduardo Chadwick made history as the first Chilean to be named “Decanter Man of the Year.” Additionally, a significant milestone was achieved when a Chilean wine, Las Pizarras Chardonnay 2017, earned 98 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, a first for the publication. James Suckling also recognized the excellence of Chilean wines, placing Las Pizarras Pinot Noir among the world's Top 10 Wines and awarding 99 points to both the 2018 vintages of Las Pizarras Chardonnay and Las Pizarras Pinot Noir. These accolades highlight the exceptional quality and growing recognition of Chilean wines on the global stage.
